I grew up in a small town in rural Wisconsin (in an old one room schoolhouse), and until 3 years ago, I also called Wisconsin home.  I got my undergraduate in Elementary Education with minors in Early Childhood and Inclusion at UW Platteville (home of the world’s largest ‘M’) and my certificate in early childhood special education from UW Milwaukee.  I have just started working toward a masters degree in special education-severe.
I started my teaching career in Kindergarten.  I co-taught an inclusion classroom with a special education teacher.  I then moved to the 4-year-old preschool program.  From there I started teaching special education.  I have worked with students from 3 years old to fifth grade.  I took a couple years away from teaching after my move and am happy to have found a new teaching home in Life Skills at LaVerkin.
I love to travel and visit friends and family all over the United States and love to go to concerts of all kinds of music.  I am currently enjoying exploring my new home and all the amazing things to see in Southern Utah and the surrounding area.

I graduated from Southern Utah University in 2002 with a BA in Communication/Public Relations and a minor in English Literature.  I went back to school in 2021 to become a special education teacher and started my first year teaching here at LaVerkin Elementary at the same time. Before that, I worked at the LaVerkin Elementary Preschool, Hurricane High School as a mentor, as a reading paraprofessional at LaVerkin Elementary, and as a special education paraprofessional at LaVerkin Elementary.

My childhood was spent in Emery, Utah. At an early age, I developed a love for learning new things and reading. I had the privilege of being taught by teachers who have inspired me to take this path to teaching.

When I am not at school, I love being at home, giving my husband new projects to build from my Pinterest boards, and reading. I adore my family, and doing anything with them is where you will find me.

I am lucky to work at Laverkin Elementary, where leaders are taught to live, love, learn, and leave a legacy.
